Maestro Taeyoung Lee is the second place winner of the Orchestra Conducting Award and the third place winner of the Performance Award of the American Prize Competition in the U.S., and awarded the First Honour Diploma Award in the 31st Masterplayers International Music Competition in Lugano, Switzerland.
Mr. Lee served as an assistant conductor to the Seoul Metropolitan Opera, Mannes Opera, and Hanyang University Orchestra and Opera. He is a seasoned conductor at numerous orchestras in the United States and abroad, namely the Virginia Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, The Mannes Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic, Ulsan Philharmonic, Chung-Nam Philharmonic, JeonJu Symphony, Jeju Philharmonic, Halla Orchestra, You N Philharmonic, New York Academic Festival Orchestra, and Mannes Repertoire Orchestra.
He was invited to the Buffalo Philharmonic as a Student Conductor-in-Residence for 2012-2013 season and at the Seoul Philharmonic Master Class with Maestro, Myung-Whun Chung in 2014.
Maestro Lee holds a Bachelor’s degree in composition and studied orchestral conducting with Prof. Eunsung Park from Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea. He continued to earn his Master’s degree and Professional Studies Diploma in orchestral conducting under the direction of David Hayes at The Mannes College of Music. Mr. Lee currently serves as Music Director of New Jersey Sinfonietta and Principal Conductor of New York Performing Arts Theatre.
